RIYADH — The Saudi Conventions and Exhibitions General Authority (SCEGA) has announced that the Kingdom’s business‑events infrastructure has expanded by 32 percent year‑on‑year, covering 923 accredited venues.

This growth aligns with the aims of Vision 2030 to elevate the events and tourism sectors. Since 2018, exhibition space alone has surged by 320 percent, reaching 300,520 square metres.
Chairman Fahd Al‑Rasheed stated that Saudi Arabia is experiencing “unprecedented growth and opportunities in the business events sector,” pointing to major upcoming events like Expo 2030 and the FIFA World Cup 2034 as catalysts.
The majority of capacity growth is concentrated in Riyadh, Makkah, and the Eastern Province, accounting for roughly 90 percent. Prominent venues include the Riyadh Exhibition and Conference Center in Malham, the Jeddah Superdome, and the Dhahran Expo Center.
Beyond these, other provinces are emerging with new venues: the King Salman International Conference Center in Madinah, Maraya Hall in AlUla, the King Khalid University Conference Center in Asir, and the Prince Mishaal Exhibition Center in Najran.
SCEGA’s latest infrastructure snapshot also emphasizes that the burgeoning business‑events sector will be showcased to more than 2,000 global event‑industry leaders at the International Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions Summit (IMS25), scheduled for Nov. 26-27 in Riyadh.
Al‑Rasheed added that IMS25 will enable collaboration between provincial destination‑management organizations and global event leaders to support Saudi tourism’s revised target of welcoming 150 million visitors. The original target of 100 million visitors was achieved seven years ahead of schedule.
In the first half of 2025 alone, the Kingdom welcomed 60.9 million visitors (domestic and international), and tourism spending exceeded SR161.4 billion (about US$43 billion).
